Message from the Chairperson
In 2005, I was appointed by City Council to chair the Winnipeg Committee for Safety - a Citizens' Committee that mobilizes Winnipeg neighbourhoods around safety concerns.
I am pleased to report that the Committee is democratic and accountable to Winnipeg's residents. Combining the expertise of our Committee members and representatives, City of Winnipeg resources and Winnipeg citizens, we work together as a team to build safe neighbourhoods in Winnipeg.
Safety is everyone's responsibility, and I am excited about us having a safe city designation. This new direction will mean that we will be reaching out to more community organizations and citizens than ever before. We need this combined effort to truly make Winnipeg a safe and great city to live in. Please join us in this endeavour!
